This project work presents a study of the business model of the apple crop in Chaupal Tehsil, Himachal Pradesh, using the Osterwalder canvas as a framework. The research explores customer segments, value proposition, channels, customer relationships, revenue streams, key resources, key activities, and key partnerships involved in the apple industry. The investigation involves collecting primary data through structured questionnaires administered to apple farmers. Key findings highlight that key partners, such as labor and suppliers, play crucial roles in the ecosystem. Moreover, orchard management and planning are significant activities in the apple growing business. The value proposition focuses on providing good quality products and effective packaging for commission agents, wholesale distributors, and retailers. Customer relationships are emphasized through customer information gathering and feedback collection. Revenue streams primarily come from the sale of apple crops and saplings, utilizing flexible supply and demand-based pricing in APMC's and competitor/farmer-based pricing strategies. Implementing the study's suggestions can enhance the business model's sustainability and profitability for apple cultivation in Chaupal Tehsil.
