The present study entitled “Morpho-physiological responses of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) genotypes in different sowing dates”, was conducted with 6 genotypes viz RH-0116, RH-725, RH- 923, RH-1019, RH-1077, RH-1301 for three dates of sowing i.e 23 September, 16 October & 21 November in the field in randomized block design during rabi season of 2015-16 with objective to identify promising mustard genotypes in terms of morpho-physiological traits for different sowing dates. The days to emergence of seedlings and 50 % flowering were minimum in 16 October and maximum values in 21 November sowing. Among genotypes, RH-725 took minimum days to emergence of seedlings and 50 % flowering in 16 October while RH-1077 took maximum days in 21 November sowing. The plant height, CGR and RGR were maximum in 23 September and minimum in 21 November sowing at all the growth stages of Brassica juncea. The genotype RH-725 had highest values of all growth parameters when sown on 23 September and genotype RH-1077 had lowest values when sown on 21 November. The values of water potential, osmotic potential, RWC and chlorophyll a fluorescence was maximum in 16 October and minimum values in 21 November sowing and among genotypes RH-725 had maximum values when sown on 16 October and genotype RH-1077 had minimum values when sown on 21 November. The relative stress injury (RSI %) was maximum in 21 November sowing and minimum values in 16 October sowing and among genotypes, RH-725 had lowest value of RSI when sown on 16 October and genotype RH-1077 had highest value of RSI when sown on 21 November. The proline and glycine betaine content were maximum in 21 November sowing and minimum values were in 16 October sowing and among genotypes, RH-0116 had maximum values when sown on 21 November while RH-725 had minimum values when sown on 16 October. The yield and yield attributing parameters were maximum in 16 October and minimum in 21 November sowing and among genotypes RH-725 had highest values when sown on 16 October while RH-1077 had lowest values when sown on 21 November.en_US
