An investigation was planned to find out of electrolytes and metabolites during moderate and hot ambience in Sirohi goats ageing 1-4 years (Male and Female). The electrolytes included were calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium and chloride and metabolites were cholesterol, glucose, creatinine, total serum protein and urea. The mean±SEM values of serum calcium (mg%), phosphorus (mg%), magnesium (mg/dl), sodium (meq/l), potassium (meq/l) and chloride (meq/l) during moderate ambience were 11.442±0.40, 6.075±0.20, 2.787±0.12, 143.275±3.21, 5.097±0.24 and 111.347±2.19, respectively in male goats whereas the mean ±SEM values of serum calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, potassium and chloride during moderate ambience were 10.125±0.36, 5.396±0.17, 2.282±0.09, 135.020±2.41, 4.426±0.18 and 101.977±2.89, respectively in female goats. During hot ambience serum sodium and chloride increased significantly (p<0.05) than moderate ambience while serum calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium levels decreased significantly (p<0.05) than moderate ambience. In present study the effect of sex on serum electrolytes were also studied. All the serum electrolytes levels were higher in the male than the female goats. The mean±SEM values of serum cholesterol (mg%), glucose (mg/dl), creatinine (mg%), total serum protein (g/dl) and urea (mg/dl) during moderate ambience were 111.5±5.35, 63.668±1.79, 1.362±0.09, 7.170±0.21 and 46.1±2.72, 104 respectively in male goats whereas the mean±SEM values of serum cholesterol, glucose, creatinine, total serum protein and urea in female goats during moderate ambience were 138±7.57, 52.439±2.32, 1.1±0.08, 6.578±0.11 and 37.6±1.06, respectively. During hot ambience serum cholesterol, glucose, creatinine and urea were increased significantly (p<0.05) than respective moderate ambience mean values while the mean value of total serum protein level was decreased significantly (p<0.05) than moderate ambience. In present study the effect of sex on serum metabolites were also studied. All serum metabolite levels were found higher during both ambiences in male than female goats but cholesterol level was lower in the male than the female goats. It was concluded that hot ambience produces significant effect on the serum levels of electrolytes and metabolites. However, the type of sex also influences the serum electrolytes and metabolites.en_US
