Abstract
A 12 year old non - descript maledog was brought to the Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital, with the history of swelling on the nasal bridge and respiratory distress for the past three months. Clinical examination revealed a tumour mass involving the whole nasal bridge and extending into the oral cavity. Radiological examination revealed sunburst appearance of tumour mass attached to the nasal bone. Fine-Needle Aspiration Biopsy (FNAB) showed round to oval cells scattered singly with moderate amount of basophilic vacuolated cytoplasm. Gross examination revealed metastatic lesions in the lung and spleen. Histologically, the tumour mass revealed pleomorphic to fusiform neoplastic cell population with deposition of osteoid and numerous mitotic gures. Based on the cytology, radiography, gross and histopathological examination, the case was conrmed as osteosarcoma.
