The effect of foliar spray of Silicic acid (SA) on growth, yield and quality of rose cut flowers of four varieties viz., Tropical Amazon, First Red, Gold Strike and Tineke were evaluated under naturally ventilatedpolyhouse. Silicic acid was applied at different concentrations @ 2, 4 and 6 ml L-1 of 5 and 10 sprays at 20 and 10 days interval respectively, including control (untreated). The experiment was laid out in a completely randomized factorial design with three replications per treatment. Among the treatments foliar Silicic acid (SA) @ 6 ml l-1 applied at 10 days intervals recorded significantly highest plant spread (24.20, 29.45, 34.04 and 38.90 cm2, at 30, 60, 90 and 120 Days after spraying respectively), number of shoots per plant (5.72, 9.30 and 12.62 at 60, 90 and 120 Days after spraying respectively), leaf area (8.94 and 11.08 cm2 at 60 and 90 Days after spraying respectively), stalk length (32.62 cm), stalk girth (0.48cm), total biomass (228.5 g), number of flowers/plant (31.62), leaf silicon content (1.21%). Application of foliar silicic acid @ 4ml l-1 at 10 days interval recorded significantly highest plant height (43.18, 52.88, 64.90 and 75.34 cm at 30, 60, 90 and 120 Days after spraying respectively), bud length (3.74 cm) and number of marketable flowers/plant(17.30). Application of foliar silicic acid @ 6ml l-1 at 20 days interval recorded highest neck length (9.15cm), flower bud diameter (2.10 cm) and took minimum number of days (37.51) for emergence of first flower bud. Application of foliar Silicic acid proved to have beneficial effects on growth, yield and quality of cut rose flowers under naturally ventilated polyhouse conditions.en_US
