A field experiment was carried out during kharif 2014 at Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru to study the effect of different sources, levels of fertilizer and methods of fertilizer application on growth and yield of groundnut in red sandy loam soil. The experiment consisted of ten treatments viz., 50, 62.5, 75 and 100 % of RDF through normal fertilizers, water soluble fertilizers (WSF) and combination of both with soil application, fertigation as well as foliar application methods which were replicated thrice in RCBD. The investigation revealed that drip fertigation of water soluble fertilizers at 50 % RDF along with foliar spray of water soluble fertilizers at 12.5 % RDF recorded significantly higher pod yield (2910 kg ha-1), growth parameters (plant height, leaf area, total dry matter production) and yield attributes (pods plant -1, pod weight plant - 1, 100 kernel weight, kernel and haulm yield). Uptake of major nutrients (N, P and K) in groundnut was also significantly higher in this treatment. However it was on par with drip fertigation of normal fertilizers at 50 % RDF + water soluble fertilizers at 50 % RDF. It was also observed that due to drip irrigation, the amount of water saved was 33.7 % over surface irrigation. Drip fertigation of water soluble fertilizers at 50 % RDF along with foliar spray of water soluble fertilizers at 12.5 % RDF saved 37.5 % fertilizers with higher net returns ha-1 (` 65,134 ha-1) and B: C of 2.20 compared to soil application of normal fertilizers at 100 % RDFen_US
