Abstract
The present investigation entitled “Effect of foliar spray of plant growth regulators on the growth, yield and quality of cauliflower (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis L.) cv. Pant Shubhra” was carried out in Research cum instructional farm Department of Vegetable Science, COA, IGKV, Raipur (C.G) during 2018-19. The experiment was carried out with RBD with 10 treatments and 3 replications. All treatments exhibited superior growth, yield and quality of curd. Treatment T2 found highly effective for growth parameter as it showed greatest plant height (61.80 cm), no. of leaves per plant (23.80), stem length (20.40 cm) and leaf length (45 cm) while the treatments T10, T8 and T6 recorded highest stem diameter (10 cm), leaf width (31.33 cm) and root length (24.40 cm), respectively. The treatment T6 found highly effective for yield attributing characters as it recorded highest curd diameter (46.20 cm), curd weight (468 gm), per plot yield (6.55 kg) and per hectare yield (173.33 quintal) while the treatment T9 showed second position respectively. Recorded highest TSS in treatment T6 (6.56 0Brix) followed by T7 (5.96 0Brix), T8 (5.7 0Brix) and T10 (5.52 0Brix). Recorded highest protein content in treatments T6 (8.89%) followed by T7 (8.41%), T10 (8.37%) and T2 (8.34%). Therefore the treatments T6, T2, T8, and T9 found highly effective as it improves vegetative growth, yield and quality of crop.
