Keratin Associated Protein was one of the major genes that influence the wool traits in sheep. Gene mapping studies of keratin proteins have identified some chromosomal regions which have significant association with various wool quality and production traits. Among all the classes of Keratin Associated Protein gene, KAP 3.2 and KAP 6.1 genes are found to be polymorphic having impact on wool characteristics.en_US
