Abstract
India is endowed with vast resources of livestock including poultry and
fisheries. Livestock plays a central role in the natural resource-based livelihood of
the vast majority of the population. However, different parts of the country are vulnerable to a large number of natural disasters. Being a vast country of tropical climate, it experiences all types of natural disasters, except volcanic activity. India is one of the most disaster" prone countries of the world.
