This study was conducted to develop strategies for popularizing sorghum production technology among farmers of Haryana state. The study was conducted on 120 randomly selected respondents from two randomly selected blocks of Gurugram district in Haryana state. Interview was conducted with the help of well-structured schedule, which was divided into two parts i.e. personal profile of respondents and knowledge and adoption level and constraints. The results of the study revealed that in case of recommended cultivars majority of respondents belong to full adoption category. Majority of respondents had partial level of adoption in recommended seed rate, time of planting, manure and fertilizers, intercultural operations, irrigation and in disease and their control. Findings of the personal profile of the respondents revealed that majority of the farmers were of middle age group (36-50 years), educated upto senior secondary, belonged to joint family with 5-6 members, performed only agriculture and had land holding upto 2.5-5 acres. Majority of respondents belong to OBC category. Maximum number of respondents follow sorghum-mustard cropping pattern. Majority of respondents are not member of any organization and using tubewell as source of irrigation. Maximum technological gap was found in planting distance and minimum technology gap in planting time. Major constraints faced by farmers were high prices of agro-chemicals regarding input constraints, lack of transport facilities and disposal of produce constraints in marketing and problem of stray animals in production constraints. To overcome these constraints, adoption of multicut varieties, recommended manure and fertilizer, number of irrigations, regular organizing the trainings regarding fodder production were very useful.en_US
