Abstract
Various factors, such as the influence of the sire, the dam,
the effect of season of insemination, feeding and management are
responsible for variation in the conception rate in cattle. The effect
of month and season on conception rate in cattle were studied by
several authors (Prabhu and Bhattacharya, 1953; Kale, 1963; Singh,
et al., 1964; Tomar, 1966; Anderson, 1966; Tomar et aI., 1972; Mukherjee,
1973; Nair, 1975; Datta et at, 1980 and Balachandran, et al., 1983)
in India.
