Abstract: A field experiment entitled “Comparative Performance of Drilling Versus Dibbling Method in Wheat (Triticum spp.)” was conducted during rabi season of the year 2017-2018 at the farm of Wheat Research Unit, Dr.Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. Experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block design (FRBD) with ten treatments replicated thrice. Varieties V1(AKAW 4210-6) and V2(AKAW 4627) as the first factor ,Treatment consisted of five sowing method viz., S1( drilling at 20 cm @100 kg/ha), S2(drilling at 20 cm @50 kg/ha) S3(dibbling at 15 x15 cm) S4( dibbling 15 x20 cm) S5 (dibbling 20 x 20 cm) as second factor. The soil of experimental field was clay in texture and topography of the field was fairly uniform. The results of chemical analysis indicate that, the soil was slightly alkaline in reaction having pH 7.48. and available N,P,K was 228.32 , 24.80 ,369.19 Kg ha-1. Out of two varieties taken for investigation AKAW 4210-6 found superior than other variety AKAW 4627 in respect of growth and yield attributes .Variety AKAW 4210-6 was found to be most remunerative. The growth attributes viz, number of leaves plant-1, leaf area plant-1 .number of effective tillers m-2 ,chlorophyll content index (%) ,Dry Matter Accumulation plant-1 (g) showed significant increase under sowing method of dibbling at 20 x20 cm, Yield attributes viz, Number of spike plant-1, length of spike (cm), number of grain spike-1, weight of spike (g), grain yield plant-1 (g), straw yield plant-1, (g) test Weight (g)number of grains plant-1 grain yield plant-1 (g) ,straw yield plant-1 (g) biological yield, and test weight (g) were observed significantly higher with sowing method S5 (dibbling at 20x 20 cm) followed by S3 ( dibbling at 15 x15 cm) S4 (dibbling at 15 x20 cm ) and rest of treatment. Gross monetary returns and net monetary returns and , B:C ratio were significantly highest with treatment S3 (dibbling at 15 x15 cm ) followed by S1 (drilling at 20 cm @100).en_US
