Abstract
Megaesophagus in the dog is deļ¬ned as a disorder of esophageal transport or lower esophageal sphincter function, which results in retention of food and dilation of the esophagus (Guilford and Stromback, 1996) Megaqesophagus may be congential or acquired or occur as secondary to a number of causes (Mears and Denova, 2000).
