Abstract
Many plants and their derivatives are
used for treatment of liver diseases in human
medicine. Silymarin is a polyphenolic
fiavonoid derived from Milk Thistle (Silybum
marianum) that has significant hepato
protective, anti inflammatory. immuno-
modulatory, anti oxidant and membrane
stabilizing effects (Flora et aI., 1998).
