dc.description.abstract | Sambar deer is the largest Indian deer and carries the grandest horns. This large deer stands 150 cm at the shoulder and weighs between 225 to 320 kg and the three tired antlers are about 120 cm long with a span of nearly 100 cm. They belong to the family cervidae. It has a coarse and shaggy coat. Coloration is uniformly dark — brown with yellowish tinge under the chin, tail and underside of the limbs. | en_US |
