Plants are being used to cure diseases and disorders since time immemorial. About 70–95% total population of the developing countries is using the traditional medicines for their primary healthcare. The Plants not only play a vital role in day to day livelihood but also in health management system and the economic development of society. The significance of the traditional medicinal system is that it offers health service to 80% of the world's population and it has a good economic value in the 21st century all over the world. The plants are also used as a source of nutrition, appetizers, and energy boosters (Maundu et al., 2001). These plants contains important active ingredients of high medicinal value, therefore the knowledge on plant morphology, diversity and medicinal uses of the plants by indigenous people is important for conservation and improvement of the valuable species (Tuttolomondo et al., 2014). The state of Arunachal Pradesh included in Eastern Himalayan biodiversity hotspot (Ronya, 2000) and it is the largest state in the north-eastern region of India, which covers an area of about 83,743 km² and is located in the utmost eastern tip of the India in the Trans-Himalayan region between 26° 28´ to 29° 33´ N and between 91° 31´ to 97° 30´ E longitude (Mandal et al., 2002) and the state has 25 districts .There are 26 major tribes and 110 sub-tribes native inhabitants to the state (Srivastava, 2009; Singh et al., 2008; Sarmah, 2010). Most of the state’s tribal people depend primarily on the plant and their resources for the livelihood and their life support.en_US
The present investigation entitled "Studies on reproductive biology and propegation of dicentra Scandens (D.Don) wap' . was carried out in the experimental field as well as in the laboratory of Depatment of FPU, CHF , CAU Pasighat during 2018 2019 with the objective of study of morphological, feature, reprodutive biology effect of different treatment on seed germinatinand effect of tubers divission on sprouting and survibal percentage. the species was found to be perrennial scandent herb. It bears tubrous root, elongated with a fibrous network of finer roots. Stem is week and tenders per inflorescence was observed in open pollination as compared to caging and bagging . IN open pollination fruit set was found to be 57% . Fruit length ranges from 31.92 mm to25 mm and breadth ranges from 9.4 mm to 6.42 mm. weight of 100 seeds was recorded 0.125 grams.en_US
