dc.description.abstractln the present study, the prevalence of haemoparasitic infections in dogs in Namakkal district was assessed with the identification of the transmitting vectors involved and associated risk factors in the epidemiology. The haematological and biochemical status in positive cases were also analysed. ln this study, a total of 150 dogs, irrespective of their age, sex, breed and health status presented to TVCC, VCRI, Namakkal from September, 2015 to April, 2016 were screened. The overall prevalence of haemoparasitic infections was found to be 26.0 per cent with a prevalence of 26.0 per cent by PCR and 1.32 per cent by microscopic examination of blood smears.en_US
