The findings The present study entitled ”Growth Performance of Osmanabadi Kids by Supplementation of Chelated Mineral” in terms of dry matter intake, water intake, growth rate, body weight gain and cost of feeding. Fifteen goat kids between the age group of 8 to 10 months and weighing between 12 to 13.5 kg were divided into five equal groups, of three goat kids, in such a way that all the groups were having approximately same body weight at the beginning of the experiments. Supplementation of chelated mineral in goat kids indicated positive trend of dry matter intake and water intake of kids.en_US
The study entitled “Growth Performance of Osmanabadi Kids by Supplementation of Chelated Mineral” was conducted for period of 60 days. Fifteen goat kids were divided into five groups on the nearness of age and weight. Five feeding treatments were studied namely T1 (Extensive feeding + concentrate without minerals), T2 (Extensive feeding + concentrate + 1% mineral mixture), T3 (Extensive feeding + concentrate + 2% mineral mixture), T4 (Extensive feeding + concentrate + 1% chelated minerals), T5 (Extensive feeding + concentrate + 2% chelated minerals) was fulfiled requirement of goat kids in all treatments. It was observed that, readymade concentrate containing 89.70, 19.79, 12.30, 5.25, 58.51 and 4.15 per cent of DM, CP, EE, CF, NFE and Total ash, respectively. Daily DM intake differed significantly between the treatments. The goat kids from T5 groups consumed more DM than that of T4, T3, T2 and T1 goat kids groups. The average daily DM intake was 0.541, 0.542, 0.578, 0.559, and 0.582 kg/day/kids in T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 groups respectively. This trend thus indicated that there was increase in the daily DM intake when a mineral was incorporated as supplementation in the rations of kids. Weight gain per day was found higher in T5. All the kids exhibited satisfactory growth rate 0.040 to 0.061 kg per day and differences were significant. The per kg gain of body weight was higher in T5 treatment. It was over experimental result, the treatment T5 showed better and desirable result as compared with T1, T2, T3 and T4 treatment. There for feeding cost was desirable (Rs.355.39) in T5 treatment. Growth rate was higher in feeding in kids feed concentrate mixture with 2% chelated mineral than other group.en_US
