Post mortem examination of a five-and-a-half-year-old duck brought to the Department of Veterinary Pathology by a nomadic farmer, revealed enteritis and presence of three flukes in the trachea. The flukes were identified as Tracheophilus cymbius based on absence of both oral and ventral suckers and other morphological features. The duck had a history of greenish diarrhoea, fever, anorexia and mucoid discharge from eyes and nostrils prior to death. This appears to be a first report of occurrence of T. cymbius in ducks from Cauvery delta region of India.en_US
