A study on the vegetative propagation of guggul (Commiphora wightii Arnott.) was carried out at the Department of Horticulture, University of Agricultural sciences, GKVK, Bengaluru during October, 2010 to March2011. In the present experiment, the effect of growth regulators viz., IBA and NAA singly and in combination on rooting of air layers was studied using completely randomized design with four replications. The treatments comprised of control, NAA at 500 and 1000 ppm, IBA at 500, 1000 and 2000 ppm, IBA+NAA 500 ppm each and IBA+NAA 1000 ppm each and keradix. The different root parameters such as days taken to root, number of roots, length of longest root and fresh and dry weight of roots were significantly higher (32.5 days, 10.1, 6.5 cm, 0.74 g and 0.24 g, respectively) in air layers that were treated with IBA 2000 ppm. Same set of treatments were imposed for propagating cuttings under two environmental conditions viz. the natural shade of Singapore cherry and poly house, in factorial completely randomized design with four replications. The poly house environment had a significant impact in respect of all the shoot and root parameters. IBA 2000 ppm registered maximum values for all the shoot and root parameters. Complementary effect of environments and growth regulators was observed with regard to all shoot and root parameters.en_US
