Abstract
Stunning is the process by which animals are rendered either unconscious
or insensible to pain, immediately prior to slaughter by mechanical instruments,
gas anaesthesia or electricity. Stunning besides according the obvious beneļ¬t of
animal welfare also - Enhances bleeding efficiency - Renders the process of slaughter
safer to operatives and animal restraint easier.
