Abstract
A study was under taken to analyze the status of livestock markets in
North-eastern and Western zone of Tamil Nadu for the period 2016-17. Fifteen livestock markets (shandies) were selected from each two selected agro-climatic zones of Tamil Nadu and ten market functionaries from each livestock markets were randomly selected, thus yielding a total sample size of 300 live animal market functionaries.
