Abstract
Infectious bursal disease (IBD) caused by a bisegmented RNA virus is a highly contagious disease affecting young chicken. The disease is characterised by lymphocytolysis and reticulum cell hyperplasia in the lymphoid organs especially bursa of Fabricius (BF)^3,4. The IBD virus replicates in the lymphoid cells and macrophages^2. The present paper describes ultrastructural details of bursa experimentally infected with IBD virus.
