Snakes are commonly infested with ticks in free wild life as well as in captivity (Jacobson, 1987). Aponomma spp. is one of the most common species of the ticks reported in snakes. These ticks are present beneath the scales and cause anaemia and focal ulceration on the skin of snakes. Very little is known about the management of ticks in snake under captive condition. The present report is based on a trial conducted to evaluate the efficacy of carbaryl dust and amitraz solution as acaricide in rat snake.en_US
