In chickens, though, symmetrical development of Mullerian ducks is observed in embryonic stage, only the left one develops into a fully functional oviduct. The right one normally regresses, but, may show development in some cases. Mostly, such cases are sporadic or incidental in nature (Bickford, 1965 and Gurudev Singh Grewal and Kbatra, 1981). However, flock incidence has also been reported (Goldhaft, 1956 and Gopalakrishna Rao and Sarma, 1981) in White Leghorn chickens. The current paper reports on the incidence of such cases encountered during post-mortem examination conducted at Poultry Research and Development Centre, Namakkal during the year 1987.en_US
