dc.description.abstractGoat is a very important component in dry land farming system. As per the 19th livestock census, the total goat population of India is 135.17 million. Goats are among the main meat producing animals in India, and chevon is one the choicest meat with huge domestic demand. Salem Black goat is one among the three recognized goat breeds in Tamil Nadu.
