Abstract
This present study examined the Business Model of Potato cultivation in Una district of Himachal Pradesh, based on the responses of a diverse sample of 60 respondents. The primary data was collected through questionnaire method. The key components of Business canvas model such as key partners, key suppliers, key resources, key activities, distribution channels, customer relationships, revenue streams, and pricing tactics were studied. The result suggested that key partners were fellow farmers and family members .The key suppliers were private seed companies. Labor and seed costs are the most significant expenses, playing a critical role in potato cultivation. The proper use of inputs and resource utilization are highlighted as key activities, essential for successful crop production. Wholesale buyers and local people are the main customer, while good quality products and competitive pricing influence customer payments. The study suggests promoting gender inclusivity, emphasizing education and skill development, improving marketing and customer relations, exploring value-added products, optimizing costs, collaborations and partnerships, and promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness. By adopting the suggested improvements, farmers can steer the industry towards greater success, profitability, and environmental consciousness. In conclusion, this study provides a detailed overview of the potato cultivation business model in Una District, Himachal Pradesh.
