Abstract
A Holstein Friesian cow aged over four years was presented with a history of growth in the left eye. Physical examination revealed whitish grey, sessile, cauliflower like growth. The growth was removed and tissue pieces were processed for histopathology. Microscopically, the biopsy revealed finger like papillary projections covered by neoplastic stratified squamous cell with central thin fibrovascular stroma. Neoplastic cells were highly anaplastic with hyperchromatic nuclei and mitotic figures. The surface neoplastic cells invaded deeper into the stroma as cords and formed keratin pearls. Based on the histopathological features, the case was diagnosed as papillomatous form of squamous cell carcinoma.
