dc.description.abstractA survey was conducted among the pet owners of Chennai on their knowledge about pet vaccination and post-dog bite management. A total of 150 pet owners were included in this study and it was found that 70 % of the pet owners were regularly vaccinating their pets prophylactically but more than half of the pet owners were not aware of post-dog bite treatment. Moreover, the study revealed that large numbers of stray dog population are present with easy access to public in, Chennai. Hence, it is important to educate the pet owners on importance of immediate post- dog bite treatment of pets.en_US
