The existing embryo adapted vaccines pose field problems in the form of contaminating avian pathogens and in bulk antigen production. Use of heterologous cell systems and a local strain will help to overcome these problems. The present study describes the adaptability of two velogenic isolates from desi chicken to BHK21 (Razi) cell line to evolve a suitable candidate virus for vaccine production.en_US
