Psittacines are one the most intelligent birds, and the ability of some species to imitate human voices, enhances their popularity as pets. Mites are one of the major health related problems in the companion bird practice, especially in newly acquired birds and in large aviary collections. Hence, there is a need to examine the birds for presence of ectoparasites. This study was undertaken in Major Zoos like National Zoological Park, New Delhi, Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden, Mysore and Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur.en_US
