Abstract
Kangayam, Umblachery and Burghur are some of the important native cattle breeds of Tamil Nadu. Report on the characters of these breeds are very scanty. Pattabiraman (1958) described the characteristics of Kangayam and Natarajan et al. (1992) reported on the characteristics of Umblachery breed.
