dc.description.abstractInclusion of animal and industrial wastes in the rations of ruminants is receiving constant attention due to continuous pressure on conventional feed ingredients. Dried faeces from fattening swine contains 27 per cent crude protein and is reported to be lower in crude fibre and cell wall constituents as compared to dehydrated layer waste (Bhattacharya and Taylor, 1975). Gilka et al., (1978) used swine excreta in growing and finishing swine rations 1nd Ngian and Pearch (1980) in rations of sheep after alkali treatment. Slanogias and pearce (1978) did not observe any undesirable effect of including swine excreta in the cattle rations though the digestibility of nutrients decreased with increased level of inclusion. In the present study inclusion of sundried swine excreta in the ration of growing crossbred calves on the performance characteristics was investigated.en_US
