Abstract
The high level expression of Type I collagen gene, a novel marker for MSC was observed from early stages in culture. This observation showed that the expression of collagen type I gene is undifferentiated MSC's in the above stages can be used for bulk production, for the development of MSC based cell and tissue based therapies and in the design of scaffolds for tissue engineering.
