Abstract
Posterior capsule opacification (PCO) is the most common long-term postoperative complication following cataract surgery. It causes impaired visual acuity by directly blocking the visual axis. The effect of pharmacological agents in preventing PCO was studied under the current research. A total of eighteen cases were included in the study. The cases were divided into three groups, group I (cyclosporin A), group II (mitomycin C) and group III (heparin sodium) consisting of six eyes each.
The visual outcome achieved was studied based on; visual function tests, and fundic examination with the use of fundus camera.
