Abstract
ABSTRACT
The reproducible protocol was optimized for in vitro selection and regeneration
of hybrid lily against culture filtrate of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lilii. Callus initiation
was recorded on medium AS19 (MS basal medium +2 mg/l NAA +1.5 mg/l BA, 5%
sucrose when incubated under dark condition. Calli were subjected to different
concentrations of culture filtrate of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lilii where selective dose
of culture filtrate was found to be 15 per cent on which 6.6 per cent cell survival of
lilium cv. ‘Casa Blanca’ was recorded. The best medium for bulblet regeneration was
ASR4 (MS basal medium + 2mg/l NAA+1.5 mg/l BA and 3% sucrose) on which 75.0
per cent calli regenerating bulblets were recorded. Per cent survival of the bulblets
regenerating from the selected calli when tested in vitro with spore suspension was 10
per cent respectively.
