A six year old Non-descript dog was brought to the Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital with the history of inappetance, reluctance to eat, difficulty in swallowing, drooling and presented with a non-painful, ulcerated, soft and fluctuating swelling on the ventral aspect of the tongue towards right side for the past one month. Exploratory puncture of the swelling revealed blood tinged saliva like fluid indicative of sublingual sialocele. Surgical excision of ranula by marsupialization procedure was performed under general anaesthesia. Dog showed uneventful recovery without any complications.en_US
