dc.description.abstractIndian agriculture is exposed to various types of risks and uncertainties. In £act there have been a pervasive phenomenon in agricultural sector. Many factors including weather events, diseases, insect-pest infestations, general economic conditions. changing prices.. development and adoption of technological innovations, public and private institutional policies interact to create a unique decision making environment for agricultural producers. Stability in farming is rather a binomial situation, while change in variables and adjustments to such Chances are Normal. Haryana is an agriculture dominated state comprising of twelve districts at present. It is comparatively smaller state with an area of 44,222 Square kilometers. It lies between 28°3 to 31°9 north latitude and 74°5 to 77°6 east longitude. The state has a semi-arid climate in the south West and a genetic type in rest of the state. The rainfall Over-most most of the state is unreliable, aberrant, meager and often turant. The average rainfall in the state is 580 mm which varies from 310 mm in Sirs district to 1140 mm in Ambala district The monsoon period from middle of June till September accounts for over 80 per cent of annual rainfall. The winter rains although are very rare in quantity yet they materially affect the prospects of rabbi harvest particularly in dry attaining areas like Bhiwani, Sirsa, Mahendergarh, some parts of Gurgaon and Hisar, districts.en_US
