dc.description.abstractspinosad 45 SC, einamectin benzoate 1.92 EC, indoxacarb 14.5 SC, thiodicarb 75WP and profenofos 50 EC against third instar larvae of & armigera and the relative persistence of same insecticides at recommended -- c.oncentration against second instar larvae of H. armigera was conducted--- in the Department of Entomology, Collegev of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, ~~derabad- and at Nagarjuna Agricultural Research and Development Institute (NARDI), Wargal Village, ~Hyderabad. \. .;i LC,, values based on bioassay studies Indicated indoxacarb as the most toxic by topical and leaf dip methods of application. Profenofos was the least effective insecticide in all the three methods of application. Spinosad, emamectin benzoate and thiodicarb occupied the second, third and fourth positions in all the methods of application, respectively. The relative toxicities of indoxacarb, spinosad, emamectin benzoate and thiodicarb were 4.80, 4.50, 3.74 and 2.37 fold toxic as compared to profenofos by topical enofos, the least effective insecticide in all the three methods tested. Indoxacarb, emamectin benzoate and thiodicarb occupied second, third and fourth positions, respectively. The relative toxicities of spinosad, indoxacarb, emamectin benzoate and thiodicarb showed 1.61, 1.29, 1.08 and 1.16 fold toxicity as compared to profenofos by topical application method; 2.31, 1.54, 1.53 and 1.25 fold by direct spray method and 3.64, 2.14, 1.97 and 1.90 times by leaf-dip method, respectively. In persistence studies, thiodicarb ger time (9 DAS) and emamectin benzoate (0.1 %) was least persistent (6 DAS) than other insecticides. Spinosad (0.033 %) and indoracarb (0.05 %) persisted upto 7 days after spraying.en_US
