A field experiment on “Interactive effect of beneficial microorganisms on growth and yield of soybean [Glycinemax (L.) Merrill] under microcosm conditions” was conducted at ZARS, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru, during Kharif 2012. The experimental soil was red sandy clay loam having low in organic carbon content (0.45%). The experiment had 12 treatments with 3 replications laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design. The results indicated that significantly higher plant height (40.69 cm), more number of leaves (20.55 plant-1) and branches(9.76 plant-1) at harvest stage and increased leaf area (1211.94 cm2 plant-1) at 60 DAS. More number of effective root nodules (42.33 plant-1) and higher pod yield (37.96 plant-1) and dry matter (32.73 g plant-1) was recorded in the treatment of 100% NPK +Bradyrhyzobiumjaponicum + Aspergillusniger +VAM. The plant nutrient uptake viz., nitrogen (164.50 kg ha-1), phosphorus (25.11 kg ha-1) and potassium (134.77 kg ha-1) was also found highest in the same treatment.Application of 100% NPK +Bradyrhyzobiumjaponicum + Aspergillusniger +VAM recorded higher net returns (Rs. 1,13,905.4 ha-1) and B:C ratio (4.33). The lowest plant growth attributes, pod yield, net returns and B:C ratio was recored in control treatment supplemented only with FYM. The results has clearly showed that in addition to recommended NPK, consortialapplication of Bradyrhyzobiumjaponicum + Aspergillusniger+VAM is highly advantages to crop growth and obtain higher crop yield in soybeanen_US
