The present investigation entitled “Genetic diversity analysis of germplasm lines for yield and micronutrients in Pearl millet [Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R. Br.]” was carried out during Kharif 2017. The observations were recorded for nine morphological and three quality parameters to assess the genetic diversity and character association in sixty pearl millet germplasm lines. Analysis of variance revealed sufficient variability for all the quantitative traits under study. The GCV and PCV estimates were high for dry fodder yield per plant, grain yield per plant, grain Zn content, 1000 grain weight, panicle diameter and plant height. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance was observed for traits viz. grain yield per plant, dry fodder yield per plant, grain Zn content and 1000 grain weight indicating the important role of additive gene action. Correlation coefficient analysis revealed that grain yield per plant was positively and significantly associated with plant height, panicle diameter, dry fodder yield per plant and grain Zn content, while grain Fe and Zn content shows high association with panicle diameter and among themselves as well. Path coefficient analysis revealed that dry fodder yield per plant had highest positive direct effect on grain yield. Plant height had high indirect positive effect on grain yield via dry fodder yield. Low residual effect (0.057) indicating high contribution of independent traits to the dependent. The Mahalanobis D2 analysis grouped 60 pearl millet germplasm lines into seven clusters which revealed that cluster 3 had the highest number (16) of germplasm lines. The inter cluster distance was observed maximum between cluster I and cluster VII.en_US
