dc.description.abstract | Cancer chemotherapy involves the use of drugs that destroy the rapidly growing cells. The major side effect associated with cancer chemotherapy is infertility. 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) is a widely used anticancer drug known to induce testicular toxicity. Pectins are complex polysaccharides of the plant cell wall and are reported to have protective effect against experimentally induced testicular toxicity. Zinc is. an essential, natural mineral necessary for germ cell development. Nanoparticles of ZnO have significant protective effect against chemotherapy induced testicular toxicity. Combination chemotherapy is an effective method to minimize the toxic effects associated with cancer therapy. | |
