dc.description.abstractA study was carried out to determine the type and level of collagen available in the chicken skin and feet and to optimize the method for extraction of collagen from these by-products and also to develop at collagen based biomaterial. Collagen was extracted with 0.5M acetic acid with 1% pepsin after pretreatment of samples for removal of non collagenous protein and fat by using 0.1N NaOH and 20% cthanol.en_US
