Abstract
In cardiac surgery porcine cardiac
valves have been utilized for many years in
the surgical replacement of diseased human
valves. More recently, the pig has swept to
the forefrcnt of transplantation medicine, with the development and successful breeding of transgenic pigs having human genes.
