Abstract
The effect of introducing low energy ration on carcass characteristics
of finisher Large White Yorkshire pigs was studied. There was
no significant difference in carcass weight. dressing percentage, carcass
length, average backfat thickness, loin eye area, yield of lean cute,
percent yield of lean and fat. The introduction of energy ration
10 Kg prior to slaughter in Finisher barrows and gilts had no influence
over average back fat thickness and lean content.
