Abstract
The relative efficacy of the three tranquilizers, chlorpromazine, triflupromazine and diazepam in antagonising amphetamine induced lethality was studied. The protective ED50 observed in regard to chlorpromazine, triflupromazine and diazepam were 0.54±0.11 mg/kg body weight 0.37±0.12 mg/kg body weight and 0.78±0.24 mg/kg body weight, respectively. The results indicate that triflupromazine is superior to chlorpromazine which in turn is superior to diazepam in antagonising the amphetamine induced lethality.
