dc.description.abstract | Prostate is a bi-lobed, encapsulated and bilaterally symmetrical ovoid gland, located caudal to the bladder, encircling the proximal urethra. Five intact male dogs with prostatic abscess were selected to study the ef cacy of transabdominal ultrasonographic evaluation and performed needle aspiration of abscessed material from the prostatic gland. Recurrence of prostatic abscess was noticed in one dog (1/5) during the period of study. Ultrasonographic examination of prostate gland aided as diagnostic modality, helped to perform therapeutic procedures and also used to monitor the outcome of the treatment. | en_US |
