Abstract
A male Jersey cross calf, aged about 5 months came to large animal clinic of medicine ward madras veterinary teaching hospital with the history of not taking feed for past three days and also eating inanimate objects. Clinical examination revealed behavioral disorders, vocalization, ataxia, profuse salivation, butting and hyperesthesia. The case was suspected for rabies and admitted in UOR. The animal died on 3" day and was subjected for postmortem examination for confirmation. The case was confirmed by FAT and negri bodies in cerebellum.
