Concurrent Marek's Disease and Cestodiasis in a Blue Rock Pigeon (Columbia Livia)

Abstract
A Blue Rock pigeon (Columbia livia) found dead in Chennai revealed congestion of the serosal surface of the entire digestive tract and haemorrhages in the mucosal surface with tape worm segments, identified as Cotugnia sp in the lumen of the intestine. Histopathological examination of the liver and kidney as well as PCR confirmed Marek's disease.
