Abstract
Dystocia due to twisting or revolution of the gravid uterus on its longitudinal axis is more common in cattle and buffalo; however, it is occasionally reported in small ruminants. Uterine torsions of 45° - 90° are frequent and may show no symptoms but torsion of 180° or more show constipation, abdominal pain and colic symptoms. A non- descript full term parous goat with the history of an accident three months back was presented to LAC - Obstetrics Unit of Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital.
